This course, Introduction to Modern Linguistics, aims at providing second-year BA students with deep overviews of the history of modern linguistics and its various approaches conducted in linguistic analysis in the 20th century. Pursuing a choronolical sequence, the course does not only highlts the weaknesses , strengths , and discrepancies between the various approaches, but alos underlines the major innovations brought about by each approach.
