Brit Civ L1 / Topic 09 : Wars of the Roses (1455-1485)

The Wars of the Roses were a dynastic struggle between two rival branches of the Plantagenets: the House of Lancaster (with the red rose as symbol) and the House of York (with the white rose as symbol). The conflict was about who had the right to ascend the English throne. It ended with the victory of the Lancastrians, giving rise to the House of Tudors.
